I'd Rather Spend My Time Close to the Sky, Than Waste It Wishing I Had Wings

(Urban Outfitters Black Dress, Mango Faux Fur Jacket, We Love Colors Lace Thigh High Socks, Pour La Victoire Ankle Boots, Coach Bag)

I used to dislike Coach because I always thought it was a knock off version of Gucci with the logos imprinted all around the bag plus every girl in my high school owned a Coach bag.
However, I couldn't say no to this coral like color and the shape of the bag.

Coach, if you guys had nicer sales people and continued to design pretty bags (and ditch the ugly ones such as this one) I'll be happy to shop again.

totally agree on the coach bag thing.... hate the monogrammed C .... totally boring...

but your coral one is totally awesome... they need to design more like those!

HAHAHA - That "ugly Coach purse" is hilarious! Love Coach shoes - they're usually well made and inconspicuous. LOVE your belt and daring socks!

Fabulous!

I agree, I refused to buy Coach bags because everyone had the logo bags in school.

The one you have on is really cute, love the color.

Hi! I found your blog a little while ago and this is my first comment. I had to finally comment because I'm 100% with you on the Coach bags! After seeing the coral bag I thought "oh that's a cool bag!", and then after reading it was Coach I thought "really?!" The one you linked is definitely the ugliest haha. Love your style!

Haha I can't agree more with you on that! You got a lovely bag of them now though. Congrats :)

Oh Aimee, what sexy stockings you have on! Love the color! It's a very sexy look overall. I agree on the Coach thing... always thought of it as a knock off version of Gucci too and never liked this fact, even though they do have pretty bags too... However, when my aunt gave me a classic printed Coach bag and a wristlet for my bday last year I coudln't really say no lol Grew to like it fairly quickly haha But I really like your bag, great color too!

DISTRIKMODE said...

Yup, I agree with you! EVERYONE in high school AND college had coach bags lol... and i don't even understand why, given the fact that the designs are nothing more than mediocre... well, to me at least lol. But yup, THIS orangey coral baby looks awesome! Love the leather and printless design :) But babe........ i just have to say this (please don't be mad! lol), the blue fishnet stockings are distracting my focus from the awesomeness of the bag! I feel like the bag deserves all the glorious attention, matched with your nail color :) but i know.... you ain't tryna be all too "matchy-matchy" so i guess yeah.... i can accept that :)

ttyl!

Coach bags from the 80s were gorgeous - super quality leather, beautiful brushed metal hardwear, utilitarian shapes. and then the 90s & suburban soccer moms happened.

i find 80s coach bags for a song at thrift stores. i love them!

I totally agree; I wasn't fond of Coach during my high school years when all the girls were all over that. I really did think it was ugly. I really like their leather goods though. Some are really simple and classic, and I think that is what Coach should make more of. I think the world is getting over plastering logos on everything anyway.

coach > gucci.

i'm biased because of my love for vintage coach satchels. high quality leather, simple yet elegant and practical designs, before this nonsense.

anything momogrammed is tacky in my opinion, except MAYBE murakami's collaboration with LV because of the irony.

I used to hate Coach with a passion (basically thought it was very low-end and for high school kids who thought they were high-end), refused to even step into a Coach store, but lately, they have been producing some really beautiful bags, so I may just have to give in and buy one someday.

Also, how many wolf whistles did you get from guys in that outfit? Guys must have been tripping over themselves when you walked down the street in that! Only you could pull that off too, I would be way too self conscious to wear 1) garter belts 2) bright thigh high fishnets. KUDOS!

Melmo said...

i soooo agree with your thoughts on Coach purses. Their monograms are ugly and yes, everybody has one (fake/not!) but their leather purses look a lot better (such as yours). love the pop of coral and turquoise in this look :)

Can someone please point to and address the massive PINK ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM HERE!!?? She looks absolutely ridiculous in this outfit! Fine, if she lived in the East Village of New York then MAYBE. But walking the streets of San Francisco in this tacky call-girl garb is just plain embarrassing. This isn't fashion its ridiculous. The only reason why no one else here is side-eying this getup is because she's asian and asians are none for wearing wacky outfits. If she were any other ethnic groups, especially black or hispanic, you all would have eaten her alive.

Hey anon-

1. Stop being a racist ass bitch.
2. Shut the fuck up.
3. Aimee is hot and your sad b/c you know you'll never amount to her hot ass legs
4. And even if you could, you don't have the confidence to it.
5. In general, no one should knock ANYONE that is brave enough to play with trends.

What is it with people being so rude when they comment? I know it's open forum and everything but damn, have some respect and if you really feel that strongly, approach it in a mature manner instead up slicing and dicing. Jeezus. And besides, why have such a strong opinion when it has nothing to do with you? Get off her blog then.

Aimee- your a doll and truly much more better than anon haters. xx.

i'm a big follower of Aimee's blog and I'm not even asian. Hateful racist comments just prove what type of person you are. It's very sad that your parents did not educate you in that matter.
Aimee keep doing what you do! love your blog and style!

Angela said...

"Asians are NONE for wearing wacky outfits"-- wow, anon, your comment was totally uncalled for and completely racist. Um, gtfo.
Aimee, I love your style and I think you're a beautiful girl. It's common knowledge that people who leave hateful comments are either 1) jealous or are 2) sociopaths or people with like personality disorders who just want to ruin someone's day.
Anon, judging from her cowardice/anonymity, is probably ugly anyway :)
