I was telling my friend that I went to a Cypress Hill concert and he was so surprised that I listened to rap. I've actually listened to rap for as long as I could remember. In 10th grade for my English class, we were suppose to do an essay on our favorite poet and I did it on Tupac and my 50 year old super conservative white female teacher actually really liked it (I ofcourse, took out the F-words lol) and was pretty shocked to find out that it was the Tupac.
Aimeeways, going back to the Cypress Hill topic, the Cypress Hill concert was super fun. They were so good in live and my bf and I had such an amazing time there minus the potheads that were smoking around me. Seriously, for a split second I thought I got high from secondhand smoking (btw, I've never smoked in my entire life)
My boyfriend also just got tickets to the Sublime concert, John Butler Trio, and also the Nas + Damian Marley Concert so I am super stoked!! May is going to be a great music month. hehehe

I'm so jealous of your Balenciaga sandals! But I don't think I could walk around with them on flat midwestern ground.. let alone San Francisco hills!

Also, I like they way your layered your necklaces in this look.

been following your blog for a while now - love your posing and photos. who takes them? do you have any tips on how to mix up poses to keep it interesting?

not a big rap listener but Damian Marley and sublime would be sweet!

How come I never find silk shirts like that at the thrift stores?! I'm so tired of shifting through giant mu'umu'us.

You mean Sublime with Rome? ;) I saw/heard Rome at a concert in Tucson a couple weeks ago, he sounds so good live and so eerily like Bradley... I'm sure it'll be really fun. And I totally know the feeling of second hand high, I repeatedly had smoke blown in my face at a Radiohead concert. Oh well, it wasn't the worst feeling I've ever had, haha

Oh and love the outfit! Lol

There is absolutely no way to escape the smoke of pot at any rap concert. The worst part is coming home and realizing your hair smells like weed....Love the pants Aimee! Is it weird I was expecting you at the Chictopia event, but you were a no show. Next time...

OMG, love the top!

MizzJ said...

Love the easy style of this outfit - you always look so effortless Aimee! Tupac is really such a poet, it's a shame that many just write off rap as not being an art form. I think there are a few true artists out there, but they just get drowned in all the crap haha

Jenny said...

Aimee, I'm so jealous that you'r going to see Nas.. I saw him a year ago and I would really want to see his show again! I wish I would live in america...all the rap concerts..mm <3

Just got around to reading this post. We are music twins <3 Love Tupac, so much. He had so much shit to say. My first music was hip-hop/rap as well. 90s was such a good year for that! To this day, I know the entire rap to TLC's Waterfalls....

aimee, just came across your blog and I'm hooked. you have such lovely styles and bubbly personality. may i ask how tall you are? you seem really tall, but in one picture you are around the same height as lulu, and she's 5'3. How do you manage to look so tall in pictures? =)

Livie: thank you! my boyfriend Wesley Mason takes all of my pictures unless stated otherwise.. heheh
I think my poses are really boring.. so i have no idea to mix them up. sorry...

Fashion Tidbits: walking up hill or on flat grounds isn't that hard but just going downhill always suck! I had to hold on to my bf and took baby steps. haha

Amor8325: hahaha my precious Lulu wears her kick ass Chloe Docs... and i normally wear my flat cowboy boots. lol

That's so funny! My friend did her American Literature project on Eminem, which is kinda cool. The closest I've gotten to that is quoting Three 6 Mafia in a paper for a history class called "The American Identity". :)

Anyway, back to fashion -- I love those Balenciagas... something about the cork. They came in other colors, right? I seem to remember a khaki green, but I could totally be making that up.
