Lovely outfit :-) Love how the lace and pink goes so well together. I think the title 'Muted Girliness' is perfect for this outfit.

Check out Rice to Riches, a rice pudding place in the Nolita area. It's a nice place to stop by after shopping around the NoHo/SoHo/Nolita area. And if you like architecture, interior design, and art works, definitely check out the Frick Collection - it's a private mansion turned into a museum, and you can enjoy the arts, music, and the wonderful furnitures and room arrangements at the same time. Bring a student ID cuz you can get a big discount!

Really random question, but do you know Geerie?

YUM, Aimee! Yumm! It's really sorbet, ice creamy colours, and really muted, and girly, but with an edge. The shoes and the drapey cardi really adds to the contrast.

Love it.

Hey Aimee,
I moved to NYC from San Francisco two months ago and I'm trying to think of things you don't have in SF that are found in NYC...
Hmmmmmm...not that easy, but I'll try:)). Since I'm a foodie, I'll start with food around here;)).
Well, areas that you should definitely explore more is Greenwich Village (so romantic!) and East Village for its bars and many good restaurants.
There's for example a bar with authentic belgian fries called Pommes Frites. They serve it with like 25 different sauces such as: pesto mayo, peanut satay, smoked eggplant mayo and many others;)). Not fancy but interesting!;)

Food trucks are really common in NY area, I would recommend you checking out The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck, Treats Truck (nutella cookie yum!), Wafels and Dinges (they have a unique spekuloos spread).

If you're in West Village you should try some really good italian ice creams at Grom.
Speaking of Italy, close to the Flat Iron building there's a place called Eataly. A huge italian market & restaurant that is worth visiting and has good quality italian food.

Someone above mentioned burgers from Shake Shack. To me they're very similar to In&Out burgers but they're definitely tasty.

Outside of Manhattan, Williamsburg in Brooklyn is an area that you would enjoy in 100%. Bedford Ave has its own atmosphere, many bars and cool places to hang out oh, and it's the home of hipsters;)).
There's a very cool vintage store that you should go to- Beacon's Closet. Not far from there is a very cute bakery called Bakeri ;).

How about Katz's? Have you ever had their pastrami sandwich? It's the world's famous one and it's worth trying.

I could tell you about more places but I think you have already some kind of plan, so I hope my suggestions will help a little bit.
Oh, if you want to read about them more, yelp.com will work great.

Have fun in NY!

wow this is kinda blah.

ok, so ill be honest with your outfits. youre either a hit or a miss. and your hits are usually because they are a recombination of the latest trends. i suggest you open up yourself to more of your own creativity--not for the sake of escaping the ubiquitous copying trend (because thats somewhat impossible and inevitable)--but for your sake to develop a more unique blog that is not a crash between thats_chic and jakandjil blog but one thats songofstyle.

yes, you might think my comment was rude, but its not intentional--ive been following your blog for months. some of your outfits are sensational. but these kinds of comments are what comment boxes are for i believe
